Pendant "When Birdies Marry"

March 12th in Slovenia, is Saint Gregory's Day, our version of Saint Valentine's Day, which is celebrated as the start of spring with customs and traditions. We also call it the day when the birds get married ...

That's why yougsters aged 14 to 18 are invited to this pre-spring workshop to make a bracelet or pendant in the shape of two love birds.

We will start by choosing a suitable metal. Then we will glue the chosen motif to it and start sawing. Under the guidance of the two tutors, we will learn how to cut out the exact shape we have in mind and then, by filing and sanding, turn it into a smooth, finished product.

We will continue to learn metal bending and percussion techniques that will allow us to add three-dimensional character to our products. At the end of the workshop, we will embed the pieces on a necklace, bracelet or keyring. What a wonderful gift!

The workshop is aimed at youngsters who want to get to know the world of jewellery making, as well as those who already have basic skills and want to improve them.

Is the participation at this workshop also considered as a training?

YES, by attending the workshop you will be trained as a Level 1 Goldsmith (which costs EUR 30 for members/40 for non-members).

Participants are requested to gather 15 minutes before the scheduled time at the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers before the program starts. Please do not be late. If you arrive late, we cannot guarantee entry—once the creative process has begun, you will not be able to join in!

In case of cancellation, you will be informed at least two days before the start of the program.

In case of non-attendance, fees are non-refundable, and rescheduling is not possible. You may transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the start via email at: nakit@center-rog.si.
