You're invited to a creative morning where we'll bring the magic of early moving images to life at Center Rog. In this workshop, we'll use a laser cutter to create our own mutoscope – a mechanical device that allows you to view a short animated scene by flipping through a series of individual images. It’s a precursor to film and animation, a kind of analog flipbook housed in a wooden mechanism operated by a hand crank.

Once each participant assembles their device, we’ll dive into creating the animation itself. On individual cards, we’ll draw a short story, movement, or idea – something that only comes to life when the images are flipped through in sequence.

This free workshop is suitable for children aged 9 and up.

The workshop is part of the educational program by Društvo Slon, co-funded by the Slovenian Film Centre, a public agency of the Republic of Slovenia.
