Make Your Own Wax Crayons

In this workshop, we will learn how to make wax crayons from used oil, beeswax and natural pigments.

We will first look at the materials that can be used to make crayons, as well as natural colourants that can also be found in everyday surroundings, such as turmeric, spinach, hibiscus and paprika. Then, using a simple process of heating and mixing safe ingredients, we will make our own wax crayons in the Green Lab.

At the end of the workshop, we will test the crayons, and children will be able to take their creations home.

The workshop is intended for children aged 8 to 14. No prior knowledge is required.

The workshop will take place on Saturday, 10 October 2026, from 10:00 to 12:00 in the Green Lab.

About the mentors

The workshop will be led by the Green Lab mentors.

Participants should gather in the entrance hall of Center Rog 15 minutes before the programme begins. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers indicated by the mentor. Do not be late, as this disrupts the working process. In case of late arrival, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The programme is held in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The workshop is intended for children aged 8 to 14.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the planned start of the programme.

If you are unable to attend the programme, the fee is non-refundable and the date cannot be changed. You may transfer your place to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the start at zeleni@center-rog.si.
