Metal Ornaments for the Christmas Tree
7. 12. 2024
In this fun workshop, we’ll guide you through the entire process of creating a metal ornament to decorate your Christmas tree, completely personalized to your liking.
During the workshop, you’ll learn the basics of sawing, filing, and polishing metal, as well as how metal behaves when textured using various forging tools.
You’ll start with small pieces of metal sheet. After sketching your desired design onto the selected metal piece, you’ll follow the mentor’s instructions to saw, file, and polish it. The prepared designs can then be textured and transformed into unique ornaments perfect for Christmas tree decoration.
The workshop is intended for participants aged 14 and older and serves as an excellent introduction for those just starting to learn jewelry-making.
About the Mentors:
The workshop will be led by Dalija Sega, an academic sculptor and designer of contemporary jewelry for over 15 years. She approaches jewelry design through modeling and a sculptural perspective and works under the brand DalijaSega. Dalija has participated in many international exhibitions and is actively involved in organizing Slovenian Jewelry Week. As a mentor at Center Rog, she shares her expertise with anyone eager to tell their stories through jewelry design.
