Chinese baozi
14. 12. 2024
Chinese Traditional Steamed Baozi are soft, fluffy buns that are a popular part of Chinese cuisine. Made from leavened dough, they are filled with various ingredients, most commonly savory fillings like spiced pork, beef, chicken, or vegetables such as cabbage and mushrooms. They are then steamed to achieve a tender, pillow-like texture.
Baozi have a long history in Chinese culinary tradition, dating back thousands of years. They are often enjoyed as breakfast, a snack, or a full meal. Although the fillings and flavors may vary by region and season, the essence of baozi remains the same: comfort food that brings people together.
The Baozi Workshop is designed for those with basic knowledge of bread baking and an interest in Asian cuisine. This hands-on workshop is a great opportunity to deepen your knowledge of dough preparation and the unique techniques used in Chinese cooking. We will learn how to make baozi from scratch, from preparing the dough and steaming to making the filling. We will also touch on Chinese culinary tradition, its regional specialties, essential ingredients, and cooking techniques.
The workshop will be conducted in English.
