Small-scale production of ceramic products using molds strikes a balance between efficiency and artistic freedom. This technique is ideal for ceramic artists, small workshops, and producers focusing on customization or limited product series. With molds, identical pieces can be easily created, ensuring consistency. At the same time, small-scale molds are significantly cheaper to produce and allow for experimentation with new techniques, glazes, materials, and shapes.

Join us for a course where we will explore the basics of creating a one-piece ceramic mold and producing small items in series (up to 10x10x10 cm). The course is designed to be accessible for beginners, as one-piece molds offer an easy entry into the world of ceramics.

In 3 sessions, under the guidance of experienced mentors, we will acquire all the necessary knowledge to create a small series of unique products. The mold we create allows us to repeat the shape and produce up to 50 castings.

Duration: 3 sessions, each 3 hours long

  • Thursday, January 16, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Thursday, January 23, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
  • Thursday, January 30, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Prerequisite:
NO, prior knowledge is not required.

Is the course considered training?
YES, by attending the course, you will complete training for the plaster mold station. Afterward, you will be able to use this workstation independently during open sessions.

About the mentors:
The course will be led by Ana Ščuka, a designer and artist, and a graduate of unique design. She works in two areas: handicrafts and design. She is involved in ceramic design and participates in multidisciplinary projects on both local and international stages. Ana is also a recipient of the Young Creator award at the 26th International Biennale de Vallauris 2024 in France.
