Beginner's Carpentry Course - wooden chair (in Slovenian)

In this comprehensive course, you will learn how to build a solid wooden chair — from the very first plank to the final layer of protective wax. You will discover how to choose the right wood, design and shape a piece of furniture, use a variety of woodworking tools and machines, and master essential processes such as sawing, planing, sanding, gluing, and surface finishing. The course concludes with making natural wood wax and optional decorative painting.

The course is intended for anyone interested in working with wood, design, and the creation of functional wooden objects. Over ten sessions, you will be guided by an experienced mentor, and all materials are included in the course fee.

Prior knowledge?

NO, prior knowledge is not required.

Does the course count as training?

YES, by attending the course, you will complete training for the workstations with machines and the combination machine. Afterwards, you will be able to use these workstations independently during open sessions.

About the mentor

The course will be led by Gal Žvab, mentor in wood lab.

Payment in two installments

Courses costing more than €100 can be paid in two installments. Payment in two installments is possible in the “Made in Rog” shop or by bank transfer after invoicing if you write to us at tajnistvo@center-rog.si

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please be on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In the case of a delay, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program will be conducted in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The program is intended for participants older than 14 years, except where noted otherwise.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend the program, the registration fee is non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at the email address: les@center-rog.si
