Gardening Club

We kindly invite you to join the gardening club of the Rog Center, which brings together gardening enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. At the meetings, we will plan and take care of raised beds in the park in front of the building, exchange seeds, and discuss the most suitable varieties. Together, we will sow and plant, exchange experiences, and share valuable tips among participants. We will also focus on composting and learning about sustainable gardening practices.

We invite all those who wish to connect with the gardening community, share their knowledge, and acquire new skills in urban gardening. The goal of the meetings is to promote sustainable practices such as recycling, composting, and organic gardening, thus contributing to a healthier and more sustainable urban environment.

The club will be led by a team of mentors from the Green Lab. Maruša Ramšak, the head of the Green Lab and a biotechnologist who spent much time on the family nursery, where she gained rich knowledge. In addition, she has been the proud owner of her garden for several years, which initially spread out in front of the house but is now relocated to the balcony. Zelimkhan Suleymanov, a mentor in the Green Lab, is a passionate enthusiast and expert in alternative forms of vegetable cultivation, from microgreens to aquaponics and aeroponics. Sašo Jakob, a mentor in the Green Lab, is a biochemistry student who spent his childhood on a small farm, where they grew vegetables for themselves and their animals. Rok Oblak, an industrial designer interested in plant design from both a material and cultural perspective. He designs containers for growing vegetables and ornamental plants, from ceramic to biodegradable, suitable for hydroponics and aquaponics.

Participation in the club is free of charge. It will take place every other Monday from 5 to 7 pm in the Green Lab or in the Park of the Erased.

The assembly of club members is 5 minutes before the agreed time in the lobby of the Rog Center.
