Beginner sewing course

Would you like to learn the basics of sewing? Join us for a five-day beginner sewing course where we will familiarize ourselves with the fundamentals of sewing on both industrial and household sewing machines, and together, we will sew a skirt or trousers.

Course duration: 5 sessions of 4 hours each, every day from 4 PM to 8 PM

MATERIALS INCLUDED IN THE COURSE FEE.

What will we learn:

• How to use a household and industrial sewing machine.
• Adjusting basic patterns to your body measurements.
• Proper layout and cutting of pattern pieces on fabric.
• Basic sewing, pressing, and garment assembly techniques.
• Useful sewing and pressing tricks.

Does the course count as training?

YES, by completing the course, you will receive training for the sewing station (valued at 30 EUR for members/40 EUR for non-members), and you will be able to use the sewing station independently during open sessions next time.

What will we take home?

At the end of the course, you will take home a skirt or trousers that you have made yourself, along with newly acquired knowledge that will enable you to further explore the world of sewing.

About the mentors:

Zala Hrastar is a mentor in the textile lab, a fashion designer, and a master of pattern making, sewing, upcycling, and quilting. Uroš Topić is the head of the textile lab, a textile and fashion designer, a tailor, and an enthusiast of historical clothing.

Participants are to gather 5 minutes before the agreed-upon time in the entrance hall of the Center Rog.

The workshop will be conducted with a minimum of 3 registrations. In case of cancellation, you will be notified no later than two days before the start of the program.

Registration fees for workshops are non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. However, participation can be transferred to another person; please inform us at least 24 hours before the start via email at tekstil@center-rog.si.
