Come to Ljubljana! Invitation to Slovenian creatives to take up residence at Center Rog
Do you live and work outside the Central Slovenia region or in the border region and are interested in upgrading your products with new knowledge and technologies? Come to Center Rog for a two-week residency!
Selected Slovenian creatives from various fields of applied design will have access to all nine production workshops and mentoring support in addition to accommodation.
These are modernly equipped spaces designed for learning and independent use of both traditional and modern technologies. During your stay, you will be able to create in the FabLab, wood, metal, textile, food, green, jewelry, ceramics and glass lab.
If you work in the fields of product design, engineering, unique design, architecture, handicrafts, or textile and clothing design, and you need a creative environment and machinery to improve your products and develop your ideas, we invite you to apply!
Who is this call intended for?
- Slovenian individuals who do not have permanent or temporary residence in the municipalities of the Central Slovenia region
- are professionally engaged or active in the fields of manufacturing and handicrafts, product design and fashion, architecture and engineering, materials technology, and culinary arts
- need space, tools, machines, and mentoring support to improve prototypes and products
- want to acquire new knowledge and explore the technologies and possibilities offered by Center Rog's equipment
- and want to become part of Center Rog's creative community.
What does the residency include?
- Free two-week stay in Center Rog's residential studio.
- Free annual membership at the Rog Center.
- two weeks of access to all nine production laboratories*,
- up to two free training sessions on how to use the equipment in the production laboratories independently (held on Mondays or Tuesdays), after which you can work independently in the production workshop,
- mentoring support and assistance from Center Rog technologists for a total of 5 mentoring hours,
- the opportunity to share your knowledge in the form of a public program (workshop, demonstration, or open-source project on the Rog Center's WikiMedia platform) in exchange for a 20% discount on all Center Rog services.
*Materials, firing in the ceramics and glass lab, and gas in the metalworking lab are not included.
Selection criteria
The commission will evaluate the applications received for the residency based on the following criteria:
1. To what extent has the applicant defined the project or product/prototype they wish to develop at Rog? (1–5 points)
2. To what extent will the applicant benefit from our production labs? (1–5 points)
3. To what extent does the motivation for applying to the residency program correspond to the target areas of Center Rog? (from 1 to 5 points)
The maximum number of points is 15. Positively evaluated projects can score over 11 points.

Timeline
There is no deadline for applications – the call is open until the end of 2026 or until all places are filled.
We will invite up to ten artists to participate in the two-week residency. To apply, please fill out the form below. Candidates will be notified of the selection within one month of application. The first residency dates are available as early as January 2026!
